Professor Yang Xingkai Lectures Special Introduction Course for Undergraduate Economics Students on

On June 6th, Professor Yang Xingkai from the School of Management Science and Engineering and the Branch Secretary of the Experimental Teaching Center (directly affiliated) at Northeastern University of Finance and Economics gave an introduction course to undergraduate students majoring in economics. The theme was "E-commerce: Data driven Business Decision Making, Model Innovation Changing the Future - The Current Situation, Development and Frontiers of E-commerce". The course was hosted by Professor Li Tong, Vice Dean of the School of Business and the School of Intellectual Property.
Professor Yang Xingkai introduced three examples: "ride hailing: the arrival of the sharing economy!", "WeChat: success comes from social interaction", and "Ant Financial: to be ecological, not imperial!", introducing that the current policy direction of the country is to develop the "new economy, sharing economy", and then explaining the difference between traditional economy and new economy. Upgrading from traditional economy to new economy requires industrial upgrading, and explaining the advantages of e-commerce from a professional perspective; It further shared the development status of e-commerce, and used relevant examples of representative enterprises to describe the Internet thinking to promote the transformation and upgrading of the industry. E-commerce has a wide range of applications, not only in retail and financial industries, but also in agriculture and service industries. Finally, focusing on the employment direction, job opportunities, and development trends of e-commerce, the ability cultivation of technical talents, commercial talents, and comprehensive management talents was introduced, encouraging students to become high-quality talents in the field of e-commerce. During the communication and interaction session, Professor Yang provided detailed answers to the questions raised by his classmates.
In this introduction class, Professor Yang Xingkai provided in-depth explanations and extensions using a large number of industry phenomena and examples as carriers. I believe that after this introduction class, students will have a more comprehensive understanding of the e-commerce major, deepen their understanding of the industry, and make professional choices that suit their development needs.
